03-15-2015

Lori Tiffany was nominated by Gloria Villa, Communications Specialist, Uptown Whittier MCA. Ms. Tiffany is the Executive Director of the Uptown Whittier YMCA and Chair of the Activate Whittier Collaborative. For the past four years she has been the Chair of the Activate Whittier (AW) collaborative aimed at building a Healthy Active Whittier. She has helped build the Activate Whittier program into the well-functioning collaborative it is today; the collaborative has attained over $700,000 in grant funding during her tenure.

Lori helped write many of these grants herself, these funds have helped support the smoke free parks campaign, and the “Change Starts with Me” resident advocacy training program. Funding has also supported an awareness campaign for healthy lifestyles via an Activate Whittier website and Facebook page launched in the past year. She invites others to contribute to the work of Activate Whittier.
