HEAL Planning
The HEAL Planning grant in Oildale is a partnership between Standard School District and the Kern County Public Health Services Department.
Strategies
The aim of this collaboration is to work with the community on healthy eating active living topics by:
1. Facilitating a planning & assessment project of Oildale’s public schools’ eating and physical activity policies and environment
2. Developing a plan of action together with the school community (parents, youth, staff, residents, and community partners) to implement their vision of a healthy school community.

Anaheim, Oildale and Riverside Participate in Screening of HBO's THE WEIGHT OF THE NATION
The Weight of the Nation™ documentary series and public health campaign, which aired in May on HBO, presents a unique opportunity to spotlight the severity of the obesity epidemic, showcase strategies that work and, most importantly, catalyze action to end obesity. Anaheim, Oildale and Riverside hosted screenings in their communities and have said that these resources are great to "spark discussion and solutions" and to "engage and inform."
